Creating an International Website

As discussed in our Website Internationalization blog, native language speakers are an important part of a successful implementation as they understand the subtle verbal uses.

However, more than having a native speaker for verbal understanding, they are also necessary for cultural understanding. When creating a website or catalog for another country, you are not merely taking American products and selling them to a different audience, but you are also (presumably) selling local items relevant to that market. In such a case, it is imperative to have a website cataloger who understands the culture so that they can properly explain the products.

The Content Solutions team at Ugam Interactive recently completed a German Website Internationalization project. The success of this project relied heavily on the use of native language speakers to edit the catalog and explain the uses of the product properly.
